Grape Origin: Native to Santorini, Assyrtiko is a white grape widely planted throughout the Aegean Islands and gaining acreage in mainland Greece. Vines are traditionally trained low to the ground in basket-shaped kouloura to help protect grapes from strong winds and sun exposure.
